About This Project

A tutoring platform that connects students with tutors and handles everything in between: booking lessons, taking payments, issuing refunds and credits, and sending instant notifications. I built it from the ground up, with a strong focus on getting the money right every single time and keeping student and tutor data secure.

Key Features

  • Wallet as an append-only ledger: credits, refunds, and wallet plus card split payments
  • Overdraft made impossible at the database, not patched in the app
  • Realtime that survives RLS, with publication, socket auth, and policies all lined up
  • 17 feature modules with boundaries you can't accidentally cross
  • Payout-method changes held for 24 hours to blunt account takeover
